Chiba Castle Sakura Festival
The Chiba Castle Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year from late March to early April when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Held at Inohana Park, it is a spring tradition in Chiba City, combining the history of Chiba City, the Chiba City Local History Museum (Chiba Castle), and the spring flower, the cherry blossom.
Oga Lotus Festival
The Oga Lotus Festival is held annually at Chiba Park from mid-to-late June, when the Oga lotus flowers are in full bloom. At its peak, up to 900 Oga lotus blossoms can be seen covering the grounds. There are plenty of events, including the very popular elephant trunk cup experience, various musical performances, sales, and workshops.
Chiba Parent and Child Third Generation Summer Festival
This summer festival, held every August, began in 1976 to commemorate the 850th anniversary of the founding of Chiba. Centered around Central Park, it's packed with a variety of events, including portable shrines, parades, Yosakoi Naruko dance, and stage performances. The "Three Generations of Chiba Dance," where 2,000 people dance through the streets, is a must-see. Be sure to enjoy it with three generations of your family.
