Architecture by world-renowned carpenter-artist "HISHIDA" arrives in Chiba Prefecture for the first time! / Komuna Tsubakimori

Takusho Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Hideyuki Kudo) will be renovating its treehouse cafe "Tsubakimori Komuna" in June 2026 into a multi-purpose facility with accommodation and dining options.

A wooden building designed by world-renowned carpenter and artist "HISHIDA" will be built in Tsubakimori Komuna, which was previously a semi-outdoor space. The first floor will be a cafe, and the second floor will be a space where only one group can stay per day.

<Three key points of the renewal>
1. World-renowned carpenter-artist "HISHIDA" launches his first architectural project in Chiba Prefecture.
The new building will be designed by "HISHIDA," a globally acclaimed architectural firm based in Sakaki Town, Nagano Prefecture. This will be HISHIDA's first project in Chiba Prefecture*, as they continue to explore the possibilities of wooden architecture and add new value to traditional craftsmanship. The result will be a wooden building that makes the most of the treehouse and the surrounding forest, which are the defining features of Tsubakimori Komuna.

2. From a food truck to a permanent store: A forest cafe that can be enjoyed even on rainy days (1F)
Since opening in 2015, Tsubakimori Komuna has been a beloved part of the community with its outdoor food truck operations, and now it's finally getting a permanent indoor space. The space will feature a warm, inviting wooden building and an open kitchen. While maintaining its friendly atmosphere, customers will now be able to enjoy meals comfortably anytime, regardless of the weather. The menu will continue to offer the popular hamburgers from the food truck days. In addition, new items such as carefully selected craft beers and craft drinks are also being considered.

3. An exclusive stay experience: "Stay in a renowned architectural masterpiece" (2F), limited to one group per day.
On the second floor of the building, a special accommodation space has been created that is limited to one group per day. This unique room allows you to feel the handcrafted work of "HISHIDA" throughout.
The time spent there is like having a masterpiece of architecture as your own home—a truly luxurious experience. Wake up in the morning in a small forest and use this as your base to explore Chiba, the city where the "Neverland concept" unfolds. We propose a stay that serves as a base for fully enjoying the city of Chiba.
